Hello, Author of this page.
I have spent some time "hacking" the same file-system (TFS2 by LSILogic) in my HDD DVD recorder branded "Sencor". If you are still interested in this, we could share our knowledge and wisdom :-) You may contact me at hugo gjk [dot] cz .

The Salora HDD2510 appears to be a rebadged DR5505 manufactured by Shenzhen MTC Multimedia Co., Ltd.

The service manual and circuit diagrams are here:
http://www.users.on.net/~fzabkar/DVD/TDR250HD/DR5505/

These were graciously provided by René Moret of Albers Trading BV, Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

It looks very similar to my Tevion TDR250HD.

http://www.users.on.net/~fzabkar/DVD/TDR250HD/Photos/

Parts list:
http://www.users.on.net/~fzabkar/DVD/TDR250HD/PartList.txt

Region free procedure:
http://www.users.on.net/~fzabkar/DVD/TDR250HD/RegnFree.txt

I suspect that the DVD loader could be replaced with an IDE version if a 40-way header were added to the PCB.
