What’s this site about?
I bought a Salora HDD-2510 hard drive recorder. It’s relatively inexpensive, which becomes clear when you use it. But, despite the crappy UI, the fact that you cannot exchange data between all the devices, and several bugs (don’t power it up within 3 minutes after a suspend or your tuner will show snow only), I managed to fill up the 250GB hard drive with videos. Would be nice to store those on my computer with better compression and then have an empty HD recorder again! So the USB connector on the front looks promising, but unfortunately this is only used for input. So the only way the get the data out digitally is by burning it on DVD. Well, that’s going to take some time…
On this site, we’ll look for a faster way.
